Nestled in the Hampshire countryside, the elegant Hambledon Marquee offers unrivalled views across the vines, and further afield the exquisite South Downs National Park.

Your love affair with Hambledon begins the moment you arrive. The exquisite views, charming grounds and wealth of history all help to make it a truly unique jewel in England’s crown. As the oldest commercial English vineyard, Hambledon was established in 1952 by General Sir Guy Salisbury-Jones. A pioneer in his industry, Sir Guy is credited with being responsible for the turning point in the history of winegrowing. Hambledon’s hand-pruned vines boast 20 hectares of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir grapes. Hambledon has long been associated with noted Champagne estate Pol Roger, a favourite of Winston Churchill. Looking over the stunning fields and woodlands that surround Hambledon village, you’ll also spot the ‘cradle of cricket’ where the game was first formalised into the sport we know today.

Your guests can relax and mingle while your formal photos are taken using the beautiful gardens as your backdrop. If you’d prefer, the pair of you can retreat into the vines for more relaxed and informal photos. For a truly English affair, perhaps indulge in a game of croquet on the lawn in the warm summer breeze. Hambledon Classic Cuvee

What better way to toast your wedding than with an award-winning English sparkling wine produced in Hampshire?

Released in May 2014 the Hambledon Classic Cuvée is an assemblage from the 2011 harvest blended with reserve wines from 2010.

Blend: The blend of Chardonnay (70%), Pinot Meunier (20%) and Pinot Noir (10%) was developed under the guidance of our leading Champenois chef de caves, Hervé Jestin.

Tasting Note: Fresh sourdough, magnolia and lily scents mingle with a hint of smoke over a core of greengage, red plums and dessert apples. The palate is vivid, almost vibrantly crunchy with precise, structured yet ripe acidity.
